Starting last week, I began an exercise on Twitter to practice and hone my joke-writing skills. In this Joke-a-thon, which I’ve called “The 12 Dang Days of Christmas,” I’m tweeting an original holiday-themed joke every two hours from 10AM-10PM Eastern, every day until Christmas. Here’s an example from today.
Each day, the jokes will be centered around a given theme. Recent ones include:
- Examples of why I’m a bad gift-wrapper.
- My holiday “dream” jobs.
- Good and bad Re-Gifting Ideas.
- How you know that you’re on Santa’s “naughty” list.
Also, on the odd hours, I’m sharing content from others that I’ve come across on Twitter or elsewhere on the web, and otherwise interacting with followers. Some of that is holiday-themed; some is not. if I see it and it makes me laugh, I’ll share it in hopes that you’ll get a grin as well.
As part of this exercise, I’d be grateful for feedback in the form of favorites, replies, etc., so that I know what’s working and what’s not. The result, I hope, will be to boost the hilarity in my regular “Dang Yankee” column that appears both here and in print publications.
Hope you enjoy this little Christmas gift from the Dang and Lady Yankee. Happy Holidays from the Cajun Nation to you all!
